This introductory early adopter training is in the latest version of STRmix™ NGS (Research & Validation).  It restricted to staff from forensic laboratories that have or are implementing Next Generation Sequencing for casework and presumes attendees are already familiar with the operation and functionalities within STRmix™.

Overview:  This workshop will provide participants with full STRmix™ NGS R+V user training, introducing the software through worked exercises and providing a detailed description of the biological models and mathematics on which STRmix™ NGS R+V is based. 

 Participants will also receive:

  • the STRmix™ NGS R+V User’s manual (electronic PDF)
  • the STRmix™ NGS R+V Operation Manual (electronic PDF)
  • a 2-month evaluation version of STRmix™ NGS
  • electronic copies of training materials (for download prior to the training)
  • a printed Training Manual (provided on Day 1)
  • a certificate of attendance (after completion).

STRmix™ NGS R+V Evaluation version installation: This will be a remote installation of STRmix™ NGS shortly before the start of the workshop.  A laptop is required during the workshop with access to MS Excel and a PDF reader such as Adobe Acrobat.  Laptop (or PC) specifications can be found here(external link). The listed ‘medium’ specification is recommended for this workshop.
